There’s a lot that can be said about the challenges facing administrators today. Leading in these uncertain times requires knowledge, adaptability and courage, amongst other key traits. While no one organization or ‘expert’ can provide answers to all of the questions and challenges facing today’s leaders, we know that collectively, we can learn from one another.
A critical component of ISLA’S mission is to engage in original research on Islamic education to be able to provide research-informed services that can uplift the entire sector of Islamic education and full-time Islamic schools more specifically. In addition, ISLA is committed to communicating our narrative to multiple audiences: Islamic school educators, Muslim families and academics in education and non-profit sector.
The ISLA was founded by four parents whose own children benefited from an education in an Islamic school. The realization of how much Islamic education had helped their own children led to an interest in the general condition of Islamic K-12 education across the country. A year of research revealed that the status of Islamic education nationwide was encouraging because Islamic Schools were growing rapidly in Muslim communities across the country.
