Education and Professional Experience

Dr. Fawzia Mai Tung holds an MBBS (equivalent to MD) in Medicine and Surgery, University of Jordan;
an Advanced Diploma of Education (equivalent to a B.A. in Education with Honors), University of
London; as well as an AZ Teaching Certificate (Secondary, with French Endorsement) and an AZ Principal
Certificate.

Born in Taiwan, Dr. Tung spent her childhood and youth following her diplomat father all over the world
thus gleaning a multilingual K-12 education that spanned 13 schools in five countries and four
languages. After receiving her MBBS, Dr. Tung specialized in Psychiatry, working in Jordan and Saudi
Arabia before marrying architect Mubarak Tung, also a Chinese Muslim.

Upon childbearing, Dr. Tung discovered a new passion: education. The search for an optimal education
for her seven children led her to establish the Jeddah Chinese Community School, teach Science and
Biology at the Manarat Jeddah School for Girls, and finally, homeschool in Jeddah, Dubai, Taipei and
Arizona.

She then served as principal of Arizona Cultural Academy, an Islamic private school; taught
Anatomy and Physiology at the Estrella Mountain Community College; founded and ran Aim High
Institute, a K-8 charter school; and founded and led Pax Academy, a private Pre-K-12 school and
enrichment center.

Dr. Tung currently continues to serve students, teachers and administrators through Tung Education
