Dr. Freda Shamma has worked diligently on a reading list that includes annotated summaries and a simple “rating” system that identifies whether Islamic values are taught in the book.

(Free!) Digital Books

Project Gutenberg has over 50,000 free digital books for you and your students to read. No fees, no registration. Many classics for which copyrights have since expired are on this site. The site includes searchable titles and a Top 100 ebooks list! They are continuously updating and adding books to their website.

(Free!) Digital Textbooks

Textbooks from several different disciplines are downloadable for free at Subjects include from Accounting, Natural Sciences, Mathematics, IT & Programming, Languages, and more. Some business books require a “premium” membership. All of the textbooks require the user to provide basic information before the download is made available, such as email address and university affiliation.

Online Magazines

Islamic Horizons often features important articles and stories relevant to Muslims in America. You can access back issues here for free.

AramcoWorld has incredible photos and stories often featuring lesser told histories and highlighting various cultural movements across the world. The current issue is accessible online while back issues of the magazine can be accessed in PDF format here, or you can sign up to receive print copies for free.
