KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Kindergarten Teacher will plan and implement learning experiences that advance the intellectual and physical development of children. This includes, but is not limited to teaching basic skills such as letters, numbers, elemental natural and social science, literature, reading and behavioral skills to children in the kindergarten phase. The teacher will establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment; support the social and emotional development of children, helping them to maximize their potential; and encourage the involvement of the families of the children at the Academy and support the development of relationships between children and their families.
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
Hold a 4-year Resident Educator License or Permanent 5-year Teaching License (P-3);
OR a baccalaureate or advanced degree in any field and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education, with experience teaching kindergarten-age children. Must hold Montessori certification.
