Part Time Humanities Teacher (Language Arts/ Social Studies) for 5th Grade

We are seeking a Part Time Humanities teacher for 5th grade.

Positions are available December 1st, 2022.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and teaching experience. Candidates must have excellent verbal, listening, speaking and written communication skills as well as strong leadership and mentoring skills.  Familiarity/knowledge of Islamic culture is a plus.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Planning and implementing lessons, develop lesson plans that support project based learning ensuring attainment of grade-by-grade regulated learning standards.
• Teach social studies/language arts to students using appropriate learning activities that integrate content area objectives.
• Foster a group learning atmosphere in the classroom and be able to differentiate student’s instruction.
• Evaluate students’ progress, keep records, and prepare quarterly progress reports to communicate with parents to discuss student’s progress.
• Cooperate with staff members to assess students in solving learning problems and participate in curriculum development programs as required.
• Willingness to learn of cultural differences of students and ability to incorporate differences into teaching.

Requirements:

• Must have at least 2 years of relevant teaching experience
• Bachelor’s degree minimum, preferably in education/content area
• Teaching license preferred
