ISLA Corporate Member Spotlight: Usmani Academy

Building the Future of Islamic Education Through Technology

As Islamic schools prepare students for an increasingly technology-driven world, educators are looking for solutions that do more than digitize classrooms. They need tools designed specifically for the unique mission of Islamic education—tools that strengthen learning, streamline operations, and help students engage with emerging technologies while remaining grounded in Islamic values.

This month, ISLA is pleased to spotlight Usmani Academy, an innovative Islamic EdTech company and valued ISLA Corporate Member dedicated to serving Islamic schools through purpose-built technology.

Built for Islamic Schools, From the Ground Up

Usmani Academy is an Islamic EdTech company based in Wichita, Kansas, founded by Aamir Usmani and Rizwan Raisulhaq. The company was born

from a simple observation: Islamic schools were relying on technology that was never designed for their unique needs, while Muslim students were entering an AI-driven world without technology education rooted in an Islamic worldview.

Together, the founders bring complementary strengths to this mission. Aamir contributes more than three decades of higher education technology experience, including helping bring WiFi to Wichita State University. Rizwan brings the perspective of an AI builder creating solutions for the next generation.

As Aamir explains:

“After thirty years in education technology, I watched Islamic schools compromise with fragmented systems designed for everyone else. We founded Usmani Academy so they would never have to compromise again.”

Their vision is simple yet ambitious: to build the technology infrastructure Islamic education deserves.

Technology Designed Specifically for Islamic Education

Everything Usmani Academy develops begins with the realities of Islamic schools.

Rather than adapting existing educational platforms with a few Islamic features, the team designed its solutions from the ground up around how Islamic schools actually function.

Their two flagship offerings reflect this commitment.

Sarkaar is an AI-powered school management platform that brings school operations together in one integrated system. From admissions and enrollment to parent communication, Hifz tracking, Islamic Studies assessments, and daily administrative workflows, Sarkaar is built specifically for the needs of Islamic schools.

Alongside it, AI RoboVision provides a comprehensive K–12 curriculum introducing students to artificial intelligence, robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), 3D design, and immersive technologies. More importantly, it equips students to become creators of technology—not simply consumers—while exploring innovation through an Islamic lens.

What Sets Usmani Academy Apart?

According to the team, three qualities distinguish Usmani Academy.

First, they are AI-native. Artificial intelligence is not an afterthought or optional feature—it is built into the foundation of their platforms.

Second, they combine deep technical expertise with firsthand experience working alongside Islamic schools. By visiting campuses, meeting with school leaders, and presenting at conferences such as the ISNA Education Forum, they ensure every solution is informed by real-world challenges rather than assumptions.

Third, their founding partnership bridges two generations of expertise. Decades of educational technology leadership paired with next-generation AI innovation allows the company to innovate responsibly while responding quickly to the evolving needs of schools.

Guided by Islamic Values

Technology alone is never the goal.

For Usmani Academy, Islamic values shape every decision they make.

Niyyah guides why they build. Every feature should contribute to meaningful learning and support tarbiyyah.

Amanah guides how they build. Schools entrust them with student information, institutional data, and daily operations, making security, privacy, and transparency central to every platform they create.

Khalifah fil-Ard shapes what they teach. Through AI RoboVision, students are encouraged to become responsible stewards who develop and apply technology in ways that benefit humanity.

As Co-Founder Rizwan Raisulhaq explains:

“Technology should strengthen Islamic education, not replace the human relationships at its heart. That principle is written into everything we ship.”

Looking Toward the Future

Usmani Academy envisions a future where every Islamic school in North America—and eventually around the world—has access to world-class technology created specifically for its educational mission.

The company continues expanding Sarkaar into more Islamic schools while bringing AI RoboVision into additional classrooms and STEM programs.

In 2026, Usmani Academy is also honored to represent the American Islamic EdTech community internationally at GESS Saudi Arabia in Riyadh and the Global Association of Islamic Schools (GAIS) Summit in Jakarta, strengthening relationships with Islamic educators across the globe.

Supporting Educators Beyond the Classroom

Usmani Academy remains actively engaged with the Islamic education community through conference presentations, educator training, and professional development.

They have presented at the ISNA Education Forum on topics including artificial intelligence, human intelligence, and Islamic ethics in education. They also regularly conduct teacher training programs in AI, robotics, 3D design, and immersive technologies through the lens of Prophetic tarbiyyah.

Schools interested in learning more can schedule live demonstrations of Sarkaar for administrators and leadership teams, as well as curriculum walkthroughs of AI RoboVision for principals, STEM coordinators, and educators. Even schools that are not yet ready to adopt a new platform are encouraged to share their challenges, helping shape future innovations.

For Usmani Academy, becoming an ISLA Corporate Member was a natural decision.

As they explain, ISLA represents the very community they exist to serve. Corporate membership keeps them connected with educators and administrators across the country, provides opportunities to learn directly from school leaders, and helps ensure every solution they build remains grounded in the real needs of Islamic schools.

ISLA is grateful for partners like Usmani Academy who are investing in the future of Islamic education through thoughtful innovation, collaboration, and service.
