The Director of Instructional Excellence is a servant leader and plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality instruction and academic achievement across the institution by supporting teachers in instructional planning, resource utilization, and data-driven decision-making.
This position is a bridge between the Founders, Principal, Curriculum Team and the teachers. This position captures the vision, values, culture, and aspirations of the school while enhancing instructional quality through strategic planning, continuous professional development, and effective data use to improve student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Instructional Planning and Resource Development
• Collaborate with teachers to design, review, and refine instructional lesson plans aligned with the curriculum and academic standards.
• Identify and provide high-quality instructional resources and materials to support effective teaching and learning.
• Develop instructional frameworks and guides for lesson differentiation to meet diverse student needs.
• Maintain an up-to-date repository of lesson plans, teaching aids, and supplementary resources.
2. Instructional Gap Analysis and Support
• Conduct classroom observations and instructional reviews to identify areas of improvement.
• Analyze teaching practices and recommend strategies to address instructional gaps.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement targeted interventions and instructional adjustments.
• Facilitate peer-to-peer coaching, collaborative lesson planning, and mentorship programs.
3. Assessment Coordination and Data Utilization
• Oversee the administration of standardized tests, benchmarking assessments, and other evaluations.
• Analyze assessment data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement at both teacher and student levels.
• Support teachers in interpreting assessment results to inform instructional planning.
• Develop and present data-driven reports on instructional progress and student outcomes.
4. Professional Development and Training
• Plan and deliver professional development sessions focused on instructional strategies, data analysis, and assessment literacy.
• Provide ongoing coaching and support to teachers in implementing research-based instructional practices.
• Organize workshops and training sessions on curriculum design, classroom management, and differentiation strategies.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement among teaching staff.
5. Instructional Quality Assurance and Reporting
• Establish benchmarks and metrics to monitor instructional quality and effectiveness.
• Conduct periodic reviews of lesson plans, teaching strategies, and classroom practices to ensure alignment with institutional goals.
• Prepare comprehensive reports on instructional quality, teacher progress, and student achievement for leadership and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with school leadership to align instructional strategies with broader educational objectives.
6. Teacher Resources and Materials Order and Support
• Coordinate the procurement and distribution of instructional materials, textbooks, and classroom supplies.
• Work with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality resources within budget constraints.
• Maintain an inventory of educational resources and ensure their accessibility to teachers.
• Assist teachers in identifying and ordering specialized materials needed for specific lessons or student needs.
• Monitor the usage of instructional resources to ensure cost-effectiveness and alignment with instructional goals.

Qualifications and Competencies
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in education or a related field.
• Proven experience in teaching, instructional coaching, or curriculum development.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in using instructional technology and learning management systems.
• Knowledge of standardized assessments and benchmarking tools.
