Position: Principal at Daarul Uloom (DU) Islamic School

Position Overview:

We invite applications for the role of Principal, who will work collaboratively with our Board of Trustees to elevate the academic and spiritual standards of our school. The ideal candidate will possess a robust educational background, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to nurturing a vibrant school community. Key responsibilities

Leadership & Administration:

1. Collaborate with the Board to develop and implement a strategic vision for the school.
2. Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and orientation processes for faculty and staff.
3. Conduct annual performance evaluations for all staff members.

Policy Development:

1. Establish and enforce policies and procedures that ensure smooth daily operations.
2. Ensure compliance with all local regulations, including health, safety, and licensing requirements.

Communication & Community Engagement:

1. Maintain open, transparent communication with the Board, parents, and the broader school community.
2. Foster community and parental involvement through effective outreach and engagement strategies.

Professional Development:

1. Promote ongoing learning and professional growth among staff, ensuring alignment with school objectives.
2. Cultivate a positive and nurturing climate for students, staff, and parents.

Implementation of Islamic Values:

1. Integrate Islamic principles into the school’s curriculum and culture, promoting moral and ethical development.

Qualifications:

Education: Master’s degree in Education, Math, Science, or a related field; principal/educational management certification preferred.

Experience:

1. Minimum of three years of teaching experience.
2. At least three years of leadership or administrative experience in an educational setting.

Skills:

1. Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
2. Strategic planning and educational leadership acumen.
3. Familiarity with child protection, health, and safety regulations.
4. Experience in fostering high-performance teams and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders.
5. Budgeting and financial analysis experience is a plus.
