Middle School English Teacher, High School English Teacher

The Islamic Academy of Alabama is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Language Arts Teacher to join our team of educators committed to academic excellence, character development, and student success. Key Responsibilities

1. Plan and deliver standards-aligned English Language Arts instruction
2. Teach reading comprehension, literature, writing, grammar, and vocabulary
3. Develop engaging lesson plans and instructional activities
4. Maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
5. Assess student learning through various assessment tools and provide timely feedback
6. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
7. Monitor and support student progress, communicating with parents and guardians as needed
8. Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff
9. Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Education or English (Master’s degree preferred)
2. Valid state teaching certification in English Language Arts or eligibility to obtain
3. Classroom experience strongly preferred
4. Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
5. Proficiency with instructional technology and digital tools
6. Commitment to supporting the mission and values of the Islamic Academy of Alabama

Pay: $30,000.00 – $45,000.00 per year
