We are seeking an innovative, visionary, and dynamic Principal to lead our vibrant school community. The Principal will be responsible for the overall administration, direction, and growth of the Academy while upholding our core values of academic excellence, Islamic integrity, and community engagement.
Position Overview:
The Principal will be the chief executive officer of ILM Academy, overseeing all aspects of the school’s operations, including academics, finances, faculty and staff, student life, Islamic environment, and community relations. This position requires a strategic leader with a passion for education, strong managerial skills, and a commitment to the holistic development of students in a values-based spiritually-focused environment rooted in the Islamic tradition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the school, ensuring its growth and sustainability in alignment with the Academy’s mission and goals.
- Oversee the daily operations of the school, including academic programs, faculty, administration, and student services.
- Develop and implement effective policies, procedures, and educational strategies that enhance the academic experience and promote the Islamic values at the core of the Academy’s mission.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that nurtures student well-being, academic achievement, self-discipline, and spiritual growth.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and implement long-term strategic plans and ensure financial stability.
- Act as a liaison between the school and the broader community, including parents, donors, and other stakeholders.
- Lead recruitment, training, and professional development of faculty and staff, ensuring they are aligned with the mission and values of the Academy.
- Oversee the school’s budgeting and financial planning, ensuring efficient use of resources and fiscal responsibility.
- Stay informed about educational trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in K-12 education, as well as the needs of the Muslim community in America, and integrate these insights into the school’s operations.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Education, School Administration, or a related field (Doctorate preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a leadership role within a school or educational institution, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Islamic education and values, with a commitment to fostering an Islamic environment that nurtures students spiritually, academically, and socially.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, budget management, and operational oversight.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, staff, parents, and community stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Passion for education, leadership, and community engagement.
- Ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of educators and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a private school or Islamic school setting or experience working within the Muslim community.
- Familiarity with accreditation processes and educational standards.
