Elementary Homeroom Position Overview

Muraqaba School is seeking excellent and dedicated Elementary Homeroom Teachers to lead a classroom with a commitment to academic excellence, student well-being, and Islamic worldview to Develop God-centered, Emotionally Resilient,Morally Grounded, and Intellectually Courageous Muslims

This role requires a teacher who fosters intellectual growth, emotional well-being, and a deep connection to the Islamic faith. The ideal candidate will integrate evidence-based instructional practices while embodying the values, vision, cultures, and focus of the school and its founders.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Instructional Planning and Differentiation
  2. Develop, plan, and implement engaging lesson plans that align with Muraqaba School’s curriculum and standards, integrating Islamic worldview and teachings into the content.
  3. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, ensuring all learners are supported in their academic growth.
  4. Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and tools to foster student engagement and academic curiosity.
  5. Social-Emotional Learning and Classroom Wellness
  6. Promote the emotional and social well-being of students through mindfulness practices, emotional intelligence training, and fostering a growth mindset.
  7. Create a nurturing and supportive classroom environment that encourages self-regulation, resilience, and emotional awareness.
  8. Integrate activities that enhance the mental, physical, and emotional wellness of students, aligning with the school’s core values of nurturing the spirit (Qalb, Ruh, Nafs).
  9. Student Assessment and Data Utilization
  10. Conduct regular assessments to evaluate student progress and identify areas for growth.
  11. Analyze assessment data to inform instructional decisions and adapt lesson plans accordingly to meet individual student needs.
  12. Provide feedback that is constructive, supportive, and aligned with the student’s growth and development.
  13. Collaboration and Community Building
  14. Actively contribute to the Muraqaba School community by collaborating with colleagues, participating in school events, and supporting school-wide initiatives.
  15. Build strong relationships with parents and guardians to create a supportive network for student success.
  16. Foster an inclusive and joyful classroom culture that embodies the prophetic values of unity, kindness, and collaboration.

Qualifications and Competencies

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Islamic Studies, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in an elementary classroom, with demonstrated success in differentiated instruction and classroom management.
  3. Strong understanding of social-emotional learning, mindfulness, and student-centered teaching methods.
  4. Experience integrating Islamic teachings into the curriculum and fostering a heart-centered educational environment.
  5. Proficiency with instructional technology and data analysis tools.
  6. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
