We’re honored to spotlight the impactful work they’re doing to advance Islamic scholarship and nurture a generation of spiritually grounded, intellectually prepared Muslim leaders. We’re grateful to share their voice, vision, and commitment to excellence in Islamic education, and appreciate their kind words and partnership.
We asked them a few questions to help our community know more about them, here’s wht they had to say:
How it all started:
In 2009, Zaytuna College was established in Berkeley, California, on the foundation of a thriving community committed to studying the Muslim classics. Combining this vigor of learning with the best practices in academia, the College opened its doors with a mission to produce God-conscious learners who are conversant in both past and present, through a traditional liberal arts education.
We’d like you to know…
Zaytuna College offers a BA in Liberal and Islamic Studies with a minor in Arabic and an MA in Islamic Texts as well as self-paced online courses.
Incorporating Islamic values into our products and the company’s workplace procedures:
The ultimate aim of education at Zaytuna College is the inculcation of the love of beauty, truth, and goodness in a human being. Muslims call the highest truth īmān, or a firm conviction of God’s existence and providence; we call goodness islām, or submission and resignation to God’s will and action in accordance with it, on earth as it is in heaven; and we term beauty iĥsān, which literally can mean “to make beautiful,” “to reflect beauty,” and “to perceive beauty.”
Future Goals:
Zaytuna College is soon launching a curriculum program for K-12th grade students as well as several new curriculum series books this year.
