Exploring Islam & Bioscience – Initiative on Islam & Medicine

II&M is thrilled to announce their new curriculum, Exploring Bioscience and Islam: A Curriculum on Fundamental Questions about the Human Being” developed in collaboration with HQEC and ISLA, tailored for Islamic School Admin, Curriculum Directors, and Science and Islamic Studies Teachers globally.

You can explore the curriculum Here!

To help our Islamic school educators and leaders be more equipped to use the curriculum, ISLA and IIM also hosted a panel of experts. Our panelists discussed how to help Muslim teachers and students gain conceptual literacy on critical topics at the intersection between Bioscience and Islam. The panel explored:

  1. Challenges that teachers and students face when learning about Islam and science from a secular lens
  2. How teaching science from an Islamic lens is different as it relates to the epistemic and ontological foundations that are foregrounded

You can watch the recording from the session below:

You can also get trained by the experts through our summer PD for the curriculum. The PD is for Islamic School Admin, Curriculum Directors, and Science and Islamic Studies teachers of high school students. During the four PD workshops, experts will guide you through the six units in the Exploring Bioscience and Islam Curriculum and will provide teaching strategies to use in your classroom.
