5th Grade Homeroom Teacher

Elementary teachers at UAF are expected to foster an engaging, respectful Islamic learning environment. They deliver relevant and rigorous instruction, support student growth, manage behavior, maintain communication with parents, and contribute to the school’s mission and values.

Schedule: Mon–Thu: 8:00 AM–3:30 PM Fri: 8:00 AM–1:30 PM Tuesdays: Staff Meeting 3:30 PM–4:45 PM

Responsibilities:

1. Design and deliver lesson plans aligned with academic standards and Islamic values
2. Use varied teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
3. Assess student progress regularly and maintain records
4. Address academic and behavioral issues in collaboration with staff and administration
5. Maintain classroom discipline using effective management strategies
6. Communicate professionally with parents
7. Participate in professional development and contribute to school initiatives
8. Uphold school policies, Islamic ethics, and local/state regulations
9. Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree (required)
2. Florida Teacher Certification or willingness to pursue (preferred)
3. Teaching experience (preferred)
4. Strong instructional, classroom management, and assessment skills
5. Commitment to Islamic values and professional conduct
6. Proficiency in instructional technology
