Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Classroom Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for students, fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth. This role requires a commitment to early intervention strategies and an understanding of childhood development principles to effectively support diverse learning needs.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
2. Preferred- Experience or specialized training in subject area assigned
3. Preferred- Prior teaching experience
4. Preferred- North Carolina teaching license, or be in the process of obtaining
5. Must be authorized to work in the US (we do not sponsor employment authorization)

Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities:

1. Knows and understands NC State Standard Course of Study to develop proficient and effective lesson plans for grade level/subject areas.
2. Demonstrates technology/instructional media competency to enhance learning
3. Establishes a safe and orderly environment and a culture to empower students
4. Manages various classroom behaviors and try to minimize disruptions to learning
5. Demonstrates and encourages behaviors from the GIA character program implemented schoolwide
6. Participates in meetings and professional development events
7. Works collaboratively with school personnel to create a professional learning community
8. Collaborates with colleagues to mentor and support teachers to improve the effectiveness of department or grade level
9. Open to constructive feedback from lead teachers, coaches, and administrators
10. Prepares and submits lesson plans to complete learning objectives
11. Develops goals and strategies in an attempt to ensure all students reach academic growth goals
12. Ability to differentiate instruction according to student’s needs
13. Appreciates differences and values contributions of each student by building positive, appropriate relationships
14. Regularly assesses students, both formative and summative.
15. Submits progress reports and quarterly grades timely
16. Communicates with families to ensure parents and guardians are aware of student progress or struggles
17. Works and meets with parents and guardians to promote positive behavioral support and a respectful, yet nurturing learning environment
18. Other duties assigned by the Assistant Principal and Principal
