Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Part-Time School Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will support students’ emotional, social, and academic development while aligning with the values and principles of our Islamic faith. This role will require some travel between our two campuses to ensure all students receive equitable access to counseling services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to address students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.

• Develop and implement programs to enhance students’ emotional well-being, resilience, and character development.

• Travel between two campuses to support students and collaborate with staff at both locations.

• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to create supportive strategies for student success.

• Address sensitive issues such as bullying, peer conflicts, stress, or mental health concerns with cultural sensitivity.

• Promote a positive school environment by conducting workshops, activities, and presentations that align with Islamic values.

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards in counseling practices.

• Provide guidance for students’ academic planning and career exploration.

• Assist with crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.

• Certification or licensure as a School Counselor (or eligibility for certification/licensure).

• Experience working in a school setting or with children and adolescents.

• Strong understanding of Islamic values, culture, and principles.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, families, and

staff.

• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between campuses.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fluency in a second language (e.g., Arabic, Urdu, Bosnian, etc.) is a plus (not required).

• Familiarity with culturally relevant counseling approaches.

• Experience integrating Islamic principles into counseling practices.
