School Principal

Lexington Universal Academy (LUA), a fully accredited Islamic school (AdvancED, CISNA) serving PreK–8, is seeking a strong, visionary Principal to lead the school’s academic program, faculty, and operations while upholding its Islamic mission and values.

This role is ideal for a proven school leader who excels at instructional leadership, team development, and building a positive, faith-centered learning culture.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide instructional and organizational leadership aligned with Islamic values and Kentucky standards
2. Drive continuous improvement through data-informed decision-making
3. Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and retain high-performing educators
4. Cultivate a disciplined, student-centered, Islamic school culture with strong family partnerships
5. Oversee budgeting, facilities, compliance, and daily school operations
6. Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors and represent the school in the community

Required Qualifications

1. Master’s degree in educational leadership or related field
2. Valid state principal certification
3. Minimum 5 years teaching and 3 years K–8 leadership experience
4. Demonstrated success in instructional improvement and staff leadership
5. Strong communication, organizational, and financial management skills
6. Commitment to Islamic education and mission-driven leadership

Preferred

1. Doctorate in Educational Leadership
2. Experience in an Islamic school environments
3. Curriculum leadership and familiarity with Kentucky education standards
