This month, ISLA is proud to highlight SAHR Sports, a Corporate Member founded by a husband-and-wife team passionate about using athletics to uplift youth and build community.
SAHR Sports brings values-driven sports programs to schools across the country, helping Muslim students grow in character, confidence, and connection through after-school activities and camps grounded in faith and identity.
Here’s what the founders shared about their mission:
SAHR Sports was founded by my wife and I, out of a shared passion for athletics and community. We both played sports growing up and experienced firsthand how transformative and empowering they can be. But we also saw how many families—especially in underserved or faith-based communities—lacked access to quality, affordable, and values-driven sports opportunities.
About SAHR Sports:
SAHR Sports was founded to empower youth and families through accessible, high-quality sports programs and modest athletic wear. We saw a need in our community for inclusive spaces where young athletes—especially Muslim youth—could thrive, grow, and express their identities confidently. Today, we partner with over 125 schools and organizations nationwide, offering camps, workshops, and apparel that reflect our values. Over the past year, we’ve also expanded to offer adult fitness programs, including highly requested women-only fitness classes that continue to grow in demand.
One thing we’d like your audience to know:
Our programs aren’t just about sports—they’re about building confidence, character, and community. We create welcoming environments where youth can develop life skills, strengthen their deen, and stay active—all while having fun. Our sports/fitness programs are available to any school across the country; we provide trained coaches, all necessary equipment, and full support to help schools offer after-school sports and camps year-round.
Incorporating Islamic values:
We incorporate Islamic values into everything we do—from our modest and functional apparel designs to our coaching methods and business practices. SAHR stands for Swimming, Archery, Horse-riding, and Running – the sports of the Sunnah, following the legacy of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Our team prioritizes adab, inclusivity, fairness, and service, ensuring our programs uphold respect and integrity. We maintain a professional yet faith-centered work environment that encourages prayer, ethical conduct, and community service.
Our goals for the future:
We aim to establish a dedicated indoor sports facility that houses our camps, workshops, and apparel store. We also plan to expand into more underserved communities and add new sports programs so even more families can benefit, insha’Allah.
