With an estimated 100,000 Muslim children enrolled in Full Time Islamic Schools in the U.S. we have an opportunity and obligation to educate and empower our children. In addition, we have to address the fact that many Islamic schools currently lack standardized safety protocols, resources and support networks to address this important issue. Our schools must be prepared to implement policies, raise awareness, and empower children to thwart sexual abuse.

With your support, Islamic Schools League of America (ISLA), will create a Sexual Abuse Prevention Toolkit that will impact 350+ full-time Islamic schools serving an estimated 100,000 students in the U.S. alone. Our training and resources will be grounded in our Islamic principles and tailored to our Muslim audience.

ISLA is a respected professional partner and thought leader that Islamic schools around the country, and increasingly internationally, look to to help address some of the most critical issues they face. ISLA has previously created a crisis response toolkit and a Teaching Palestine Toolkit to address gaps in schools’ policies and curriculum. We are committed to providing resources that are grounded in an Islamic framework, research-informed, and easy-to-implement in an Islamic school setting.
Our work extends beyond the immediate Islamic schools to the broader community, because as we train educators, we are training community members who are often active members of their masajid and local community.
