Teacher

Job Description:

1. Design, plan, and implement student-centered lessons which demonstrate a deep understanding of the academic discipline, curriculum, instruction, child development, and best practices, aligned with the Massachusetts state standards, and aligned with the mission and vision of Al-Noor Academy.
2. Maintain confidentiality and records of individual student progress and achievement
3. Regularly communicate with families about classroom activities and student progress
4. Meaningfully integrate technologies into class lessons during in-school learning, as well as offer online supplemental assignments.
5. Guide students in their social-emotional development, maintaining expectations and support for positive and productive student behavior
6. Establish and implement expectations for student safety and conduct; and procedures and routines according to set school policies
7. Participate in faculty and in school activities, including but not limited to faculty meetings, professional days, school fundraisers, etc.
8. Maintain good work ethics, professionalism, and contribute towards a positive school culture that are consistent with our Islamic values and principles.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Master’s degree is preferred
2. Two (2) to three (3) years of teaching experience preferred
3. Demonstrated understanding of best practices in teaching pedagogy with interest in ongoing professional development and innovative practices that support student growth, and skilled in differentiating instruction
4. Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
5. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and experience in working in a culturally diverse community
6. Ability to think independently and critically, and collaborate well in a team environment
7. Proficient in Google Suite tools and other applications as adopted by the school e.g. JupiterEd
