Position Overview
Strive Islamic School is seeking a passionate, student-centered educator who is committed to academic excellence, Islamic character development, and fostering a lifelong love of learning. Our teachers serve as educators, mentors, and role models, creating engaging classrooms where students grow academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally.
Previous teaching experience is preferred; however, we are willing to train college students and educators who demonstrate professionalism, a growth mindset, strong instructional potential, and alignment with our mission.

Primary Responsibilities
Teachers are expected to:
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction using the school’s adopted curriculum.
- Integrate authentic Islamic values and teachings throughout the school day using trusted Qur’an and Sunnah sources.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning styles and abilities through hands-on learning, art, movement, educational games, technology, and collaborative learning.
- Assess student progress throughout the year using formal and informal assessments and communicate student growth or concerns promptly with families and administration.
- Create a safe, organized, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that promotes academic excellence, positive behavior, and student responsibility.
- Build professional, respectful relationships with students, families, colleagues, and administration through consistent communication and collaboration.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events while contributing positively to the overall school culture.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, field trips, assemblies, and other assigned duties as needed.
- Demonstrate flexibility in a growing school environment by assisting with school initiatives, fundraising efforts, curriculum development, training, or other responsibilities as assigned.
Professional Expectations
Teachers are expected to:
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, punctuality, reliability, and excellent Islamic character.
- Participate in regular teacher evaluations and implement required recommendations, instructional modifications, or improvement plans with professionalism and timely follow-through.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding students, families, staff, and all school operations.
- Maintain accurate student records and communicate proactively with administration regarding student needs or concerns.
- Be collaborative, solution-oriented, and committed to continuous professional growth.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or equivalent degree from an accredited international institution.
- Current college students may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Strive Islamic School.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
Preferred
- Previous teaching experience.
- Teaching credential (preferred but not required).
- Experience working with elementary-aged students.
- Knowledge of California academic standards and differentiated instruction.
