ISLA is thrilled to announce Lisa Kahler as Program Manager. This is a new position at ISLA and is indicative of the growth of our organization through the support and continued trust of our beloved school community (i.e. you! :))

Lisa Kahler has 25+ years of educational experience in teaching, school administration, networking, and mentorship.  She has worked at private Islamic schools in Southern California as well as with the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools.

Ms. Kahler earned a certificate in HR Management from Cal State Fullerton.  In 2021, she obtained her School Business Leader certification from the California Association of School Business Officers (CASBO)and completed specialized coursework on school finance from CASBO and the Fiscal Crisis & Management Team (FCMAT).  She served for two years as a mentor for the Administrative Service Credentialing Program at UC Irvine.

Over the years, she served on school WASC Accreditation committees.  In addition, she was a school STEAM coordinator and participated in the advisory council for the LA County and San Bernardino County Science & Engineering Fairs.  She is a judge for the National Speech & Debate Association, as well as for ISLA’s writing contests.

As a community member, Ms. Kahler has organized annual women’s retreats in the mountains of Southern California.  She has also worked with Islamic School leaders in her region to develop supportive networks and build connections.
